Community
Our team is passionate about making Halifax a welcoming destination for events, sports and entertainment. We create experiences that bring people together, celebrate inclusion, and strengthen the community we’re proud to be part of.

This commitment is reflected in our community-focused programs and the recognitions we’ve earned for creating more inclusive and accessible spaces.
Certified Age-Friendly Employer

Volunteer

Valuing experience. Empowering every generation.

The Halifax Convention Centre and Scotiabank Centre, managed by Events East, have earned Age-Friendly Employer certification from the Age-Friendly Institute. This recognition reflects each venue’s commitment to creating equitable and supportive workplaces for people at every stage of life. We value the insight that comes with experience and believe that age diversity strengthens how we care for our teams and the communities we serve.

Rainbow Registered

Rainbow Registered

Creating spaces where everyone belongs.

The Halifax Convention Centre and Scotiabank Centre are also proudly Rainbow Registered, recognized nationally by the Canadian Queer Chamber of Commerce (CQCC) as 2SLGBTQI+ welcoming and inclusive spaces. This accreditation reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring every guest feels respected and welcomed. In both venues, we work to create environments where belonging is at the heart of every experience.

Community Ticket Program

Crowd

Opening doors to live experiences for all.

Scotiabank Centre is committed to supporting communities in Halifax and across Nova Scotia by sharing the excitement of live events with those who might not otherwise have access and by helping local charities and non-profits strengthen their fundraising efforts. Last year alone, we donated more than 1,000 tickets to community causes and initiatives.
