On May 15, Atlantic Business Magazine named Events East President & CEO Carrie Cussons one of the Top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada at the 2025 Top 50 CEO Awards at the Halifax Convention Centre.

Since 1998, the annual celebration of corporate leadership excellence recognizes business leaders across all four Atlantic provinces who demonstrate exceptional performance in their organization’s corporate growth, industry innovation, and community involvement.

By hosting more than 1,500 events, welcoming over 3.2 million guests, and generating half a billion dollars in economic impact at the Halifax Convention Centre and Scotiabank Centre since 2018 combined, Carrie’s vision and passion have placed her among our region’s best.

Carrie was recognized by Atlantic Business Magazine for impactful initiatives like the Halifax Convention Centre’s Local Program, which features over 100 food and beverage suppliers on the Halifax Convention Centre Menu.

Carrie was also recognized for building inclusivity across the organization, including achieving Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification at the Halifax Convention Centre, maintaining Rainbow Registration and Age-Friendly Employer Certification at both facilities, and developing Events East’s EDI and Accessibility Frameworks.

Along with the 2025 Top 50 CEO Award, Carrie was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful CEOs at the WXN Top 100 Awards in 2024 and she received the FCPA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia in 2024, the profession’s highest distinction.
