Kids Up Front Foundation Launches Atlantic Chapter

Kids Up Front Foundation announced today, June 29, the launch of Kids Up Front Atlantic. Scotiabank Centre in Halifax will be the premier venue partner for the program.

“We’re thrilled to plant our roots in Atlantic Canada, and call Halifax home to our newest chapter,” said Myra Freeman, honourary chair, Kids Up Front Atlantic. “We look forward to working with great partners like Scotiabank Centre to provide even more rewarding and inspirational experiences to children across Canada.”

Kids Up Front Foundation is a charitable organization that provides access to arts, culture, sport and recreation for children who do not have the opportunity to experience them. In support of Kids Up Front Atlantic, Scotiabank Centre has made a commitment to provide up to 1,000 tickets to local children and families this year.

“At Scotiabank Centre, we are proud to be the hub of sports and entertainment in Atlantic Canada,” said Carrie Cussons, president and CEO of Scotiabank Centre. “Our team is honoured to partner with Kids Up Front Atlantic and continue to enhance our community impact through the events we host.”

United Way Halifax will work with Kids Up Front Atlantic to identify community organizations that would benefit from the program. Together, they will help give deserving kids and their families access to a broad range of event experiences.

“It’s so exciting to welcome this great youth-focused initiative to our community,” says Sara Napier, president and CEO United Way Halifax. “We have a vision with our city to create equal opportunities for everyone, and our success in doing so is truly the result of strong partnerships.”

With the help of more than 600 organizations who help children, Kids Up Front chapters in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto have distributed more than one million once-in-a-lifetime experiences to deserving kids and families.
