City to welcome curling’s first professional league following standout success of the Olympic Curling Trials
Rock League, curling’s first professional league, today announced that Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre will host the second stop of its inaugural full season, taking place January 14-17, 2027. The event will bring elite global talent and an entertainment-forward atmosphere to one of curling’s most passionate markets.
Rock League’s 2027 season will feature six mixed-gender, global franchises competing across multiple fast-paced formats designed to showcase the athleticism, strategy, and star power behind curling’s new professional era. See the full 2027 season schedule here.
“Halifax showed the entire country what a curling city looks like during the Olympic Trials,” said Nic Sulsky, CEO and Co-Founder, The Curling Group. “The atmosphere was electric, the fans were incredible, and it was clear this is a place where the sport thrives. We can’t wait to bring Rock League’s fast-paced formats and star power to the Scotiabank Centre next January.”
Halifax has been buzzing since hosting the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in November 2025, an event that showcased packed stands and a community that rallies behind world-class curling. Building on that momentum, Rock League is set to elevate the experience even further.
“As the hub of sports and entertainment in Atlantic Canada, Scotiabank Centre is thrilled to be hosting the first professional curling league,” says Suzanne Fougere, Executive Vice President at Scotiabank Centre. “Bringing marquee events such as the Canadian Curling Trials and now the Rock League to our region has an incredible impact, and we are honoured to welcome our curling community back to our venue for another remarkable event!”
Details on the schedule and ticket on-sale dates, event programming and broadcast information will be released in coming months.
