Melanie has over 20 years experience in the public sector. She is highly experienced in strategic planning, cross-government coordination, policy development, and governance, with a focus on advancing inclusive, sustainable economic outcomes.

Melanie has led complex, cross-departmental initiatives involving government departments, Crown corporations, municipalities, Indigenous partners, and the private sector. Her career has included senior roles within the Department of Growth and Development and the Department of Intergovernmental Affairs, where she supported Ministers and senior executives on intergovernmental relations, trade, and international engagement.

She is a graduate of Dalhousie University and has completed executive education at Saint Mary’s and Royal Roads Universities, focused on leadership, public-sector governance, and project management. She is also graduate of the Nova Scotia Public Service Commission’s Executive Leadership Development Program.
